Our El Cajon Family Law Practice
We represent men and women throughout the divorce process, from the initial filing through trial to post-judgment requests to modify or enforce a final order. We handle all differences arising during a divorce, from child custody and visitation to support and property settlements. We offer the same services to people who seek legal separation or nullity of their marriage rather than divorce. Though we tend to get involved initially in child custody issues during the divorce process when the parties can't agree on a parenting plan, we often work with custodial and non-custodial parents who need to change the terms of a custody or visitation agreement after the divorce is final. This can arise because the minor child or children's needs have changed, or because one of the parents’ wishes to relocate or has had a change in employment or health. We also represent clients in non-marital custody matters.
We also get involved in non-divorce-related family law matters, such as:
- Pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements
- Domestic violence proceedings, including requests for restraining or protective orders
- Situations involving elder abuse, whether in nursing homes or other long-term care facilities or on a private home
